What MitoiX is

MitoiX is a reference site built around a mechanism–intervention–study graph for mitochondrial biology (respiration, mitophagy, biogenesis, mtROS, NAD⁺, cardiolipin) and the interventions that target it. It is deliberately narrow: a small number of landmark interventions and studies, each fully sourced and honestly qualified, rather than a broad advice article. It reports what each study measured, in which population, and at which endpoint. NAD⁺/sirtuin pharmacology overlapping NAD⁺ metabolism is cross-referenced to the mtorix cluster, not duplicated.

The central honesty fact

No mitochondrial intervention has a healthy-aging human lifespan randomized controlled trial. The human evidence here is real but qualified: functional (muscle/vascular), biomarker (NAD⁺, immune), or disease-outcome. CoQ10's mortality benefit (Q-SYMBIO) is in chronic heart-failure patients, not healthy aging; elamipretide's 2025 FDA approval is for the rare disease Barth syndrome, not aging; urolithin A's muscle trials are functional endpoints, not lifespan. Every intervention page carries an evidence flag that reflects this, and no page claims a human longevity effect.

Publisher / editorial identity

Nabus Research is the editorial owner and publisher. This site does not attribute content to any named individual author or reviewer; no person is fabricated for E-E-A-T purposes. When a named, verifiable human reviewer is assigned to a page in a future revision, that attribution will be added — and not before.

Editorial review process

Every intervention page on this site (schema.org MedicalWebPage) carries a visible “Reviewed by Nabus Research” byline with a lastReviewed date, matched by reviewedBy/lastReviewed structured data. This is an organizational editorial review — each page is checked against its data record, verification statuses, and the prohibited-claim-language pattern check at build time — not a claim of individual clinical review; see “Publisher / editorial identity” above for why no named reviewer is attributed yet.

Sourcing standard

Every study record carries five visible qualifiers: species/population; exposure, route and schedule; comparator and duration; endpoint and numeric result; and what the study did NOT establish. Every record carries a verification_status, and every trial/registry identifier a citation_status. Journal/volume/DOI were confirmed via Crossref and trial status via the ClinicalTrials.gov v2 API where an identifier was resolvable; where an exact NCT/PMID was not confirmed against the primary record, it is marked named as not confirmed in the record itself, rather than presented as verified — see the methodology page.

Monetization

This is a reference resource, not a shopping guide, and the rule that keeps it one is narrow: a study page may link to the compound that trial actually administered, labelled as what was tested. Nothing here ranks products, names a “best” one, or suggests a dose. Interventions available only on prescription carry no purchase link at all. No sponsored placements, no ads.txt, and no advertiser sees a page before it is published. Full terms on the affiliate disclosure page.

Prohibited claim language

The editorial process blocks a fixed list of prohibited phrases (e.g. claims of reversing mitochondrial aging, repairing your mitochondria, or a proven human lifespan effect) via an automated pattern check run at build time. See generators/check_claim_patterns.py.
